Introduction

The Irish Cancer Society is now accepting applications for the Summer Studentships 2023 programme. The objective of the Irish Cancer Society Summer Studentships is to offer excellent undergraduate students the opportunity to undertake a cancer research project and to work with researchers in high-quality research environments.

There are four summer studentship awards available. Students may apply for a translational, biomedical, or clinical science summer studentship or a social, nursing, and allied health science summer studentship. Applicants can only apply for one type of studentship award.

Please note, medical students and 1st year students are also eligible to apply for either stream.

Funding and Duration

The total amount available is €2,500 to support each student for a maximum period of eight weeks, starting no earlier than June.

Submission and key dates

The deadline for all applications is 3.00pm, Thursday 16th February 2023. Applications are accessible through the online grant management system https://grants.cancer.ie Please ensure that you are using the correct application that is relevant to the specific field of your research.

The deadline for queries regarding project eligibility is Thursday 2nd February 2023. These can be sent to grants@irishcancer.ie. Project eligibility queries will not be addressed after this date.
