Physical Activity for Breast Cancer Survivors - start dates

Last reply: 29 March 2011 11:16

Are you a Breast Cancer Survivor? Do you want to get active? There is compelling evidence to suggest that physical activity after diagnosis and treatment reduces the risk of breast cancer recurrence and can help improve quality of life.

We are currently recruiting women who have had a breast cancer diagnosis and are post-treatment and 12 months post-surgery to take part in our Physical Activity Programme.

Hi,

The physical activity programme is based in Dublin as it is a new programme and we are still developing it. However, the cardiovascular part of the programme can be done almost anywhere though you are required to meet the coach 5 times for a fitness test in Dublin.

You would need to meet the coach every 5 weeks on a Saturday morning at 10 am in the Phoenix Park to do a fitness test to track your progress.

For further information on the programme please visit http://www.cancer.ie/prevention/physica ... gramme.php or phone Eimear on 01 2316624 or email ecotter@irishcancer.ie.
