Lipomodelling
Hi Everyone
I am waiting to be called to have a breast reduction on my real breast as I had a mastectomy on my other breast four years ago. The operated side has a couple of indents at the edges and I was wondering if I should mention to my PS next week when I meet him for my annual check up about having lipo-modelling to fill in the dents when I am having my reduction op. Is this possible? I would be so grateful if anyone could fill me in on this procedure.

Thank you so much for your post. I only realised that this procedure existed through this forum. It is great to hear someone that has had it done. My initial reconstruction was with LD flap and implant but then I had radiation and my reconstruction shriveled but with research I found a hospital in Glasgow that replaces an implant with your own fat. I had the procedure done in 2012 and great results were achieved. The indent under the breast was the only default and I was told that my PS here in Ireland could put that right. Hopefully he can do it when he is reducing my other breast. Thank you again for your reply

I had double reconstruction with my own thigh tissue in February. In May I went back to have a couple of "dents" filled with lipomodelling. The procedure was very straightforward, although did require another general anasthetic. They took the fat from my outer thighs this time, using a large needle so scar was only 5mm long, the bruising was a bit sore for a couple of weeks but recovery was otherwise OK. I am still looking to get a bit more done as the the two sides don't match very well, but the dents he filled are looking great! It's certainly worth asking if you are a suitable candidate.
