20% reduction in chemo worth a million euro

Last reply: 22 December 2012 23:48

I never thought I'd get excited about a mere 20% but that much reduction in my chemo last time has meant that while I wasn't great on my black Sunday yesterday I was a million times better than the one before this and in the life of chemo land this means so much. I'm so hoping Janice will reduce my last one as well. Oh I'm so happy. I'm actually feeling good today. Life is good xxx

Hi Wicklowlady,
Glad to hear your feeling so well. Had to laugh when I read your "chemo land" comment, it's soooo true.
Did you manage to hang on to the eyebrows and lashes after ?

Only 1 more to go for you Image removed. bet your excited,
Shirls

Oh yes isn't it amazing how you your body tells you things are better. I was crap last night but I always think that from the thurs/fri after my Mondays chemo I'm climbing the mountain and reach the peak on Sunday which is the worst day and then Monday I come down the other side and start getting better. Oh chemo land is a place I will be leaving for good in January and like Dorothy in Oz I won't be going back there.

I am holding on to the brows and lashes , the brows are very thin but still ok which I'm happy about. Hopefully everything will start 'growing' back when chemo is finished

That was the same for me - chemo on Monday and thurs to Sunday were the worst days, started to pick up slowly but noticeably by the Monday on tch as well. I managed to hold onto brows and lashes, they got very thin by the end but they were hanging on and I wasn't disturbing them!

As the new ones grew back the last of the old ones fell away and I have really thick brows now and loads of new lashes, I have to start thinking about going to someone to tame them befor Christmas!!

Oh good looks like I will hold on to the lashes and eyebrows and like you I leave them alone. Sorry deefed how do they know what? I had scans the day I was diagnosed then none until 5th chemo. I'd say it'll be manic on New Year's Eve as well.

ah okay I get you - so this will be my scan just after 5th chemo - how long did you wait for results of mamo? When you say scan you mean Mamogram or the full monty? MRI, Cat etc/

Yes I suppose there's no point in scanning too soon they need enough poison to go in before it takes effect. I got mammogram ultrasound and MRI that day. I waited all if ten minutes as I went from mammogram to the ultrasound room and thy told me there that it had got smaller and then they showed it on the ultrasound as thy were doing it then janice came in to me half an hour later when I was having chemo and said it to me again.
