Starting Chemo
Hi,
I’m 4 weeks post surgery and while at the start we thought I had caught this very early. Now it appears my SN was positive and my cancer is Stage 1 grade 3.
So now I must have chemo, what a kicker. I’m numb but know it is absolutely necessary.
Is anyone else here on Taxol and Cyclophosphamide (TC)?
I’m starting 1:4 x 4 cycles.
Reading that hair loss can and has been permanent also it affects eye lashes and eye brows.
This really scares me. Any advice, on this and or any other aspect of this chemo would be much appreciated . Btw my oncol nurse has only mentioned temp hair loss and referred to leaflets on wig choice/ suppliers .
I’m in Munster so any experiences here would also greatly help !
Thanks x
To my mothers cooking. Deep breaths. You will absolutely be fine. I had small tumour lobular cancer oestrogen +HER neg but was in one node. I thought I was going to off lightly also but have just said to myself that I’d be happier if the made sure no more sneaky cancer cells were there. Best of luck.
Hi,
Thanks for your response, great to hear someone going through at same time as me. It’s the worrying about all the side effects but at least by reaching out we can help one another. I had my hairpiece fitted last week and ordered eye brows as well ! This time last year as I embarked on anew year I never thought I’d be doing that at all. Any how nice to hear from you girl. I wish you very success and keep each other in mind during this time .. ... chat again soon ...
Hi
The very best of luck with your treatments, I just have a query. I had surgery 7 weeks ago and still waiting to start chemo, my nerves are totally gone, meeting oncologist this week. I have ordered my wig but have to wait till after I start the cyclophosphamide before they will shave my hair. I didn’t realise you could order eyebrows , could you let me know how this works and where I could order them from please. Thanks
Hi. I’m on my 3rd of A/C one more of there then onto Taxol. A friend of mine had 12 taxol and 4 AC and her hair has grown back fantastically. I’ve yet to hear of anyone suffering permanent hair loss so put that out of your head. Your hair will come back! I’ve shaved mine off and it was the best decision I made. No hair clogging showers etc. Don’t worry about chemo. Take all the anti-sickness meds they give you. I was sick after 1st round but they upped the meds since and have been much better. Ate half a Christmas Cake! I was also panicking about starting chemo but it’s doable. When I’m up to it I try to get out for a walk as often as I can. I find that’s helps. Plain food. I’ve gonee Ed back to my
